A 40-year-old Pahang UMNO Youth official who maintained a decade-long presence in party grassroots politics has been killed in a tragic vehicle accident alongside three family members near Bentong. Mohd Radzi Rahimi, who served as Treasurer of the Pahang UMNO Youth movement, was fatally struck when a massive tree collapsed onto the four-wheel-drive vehicle he was travelling in along the old Kuala Lumpur-Bentong road near Janda Baik at approximately 1 pm yesterday. His wife Nuriani Mohammad Jafri, 36, his five-year-old son Muhammad Rizz Hazim, and his brother-in-law Mohammad Nizam Mohammad Jafri, 35, also perished in the incident.
Mohd Radzi's father, Rahimi Abd Samad, 63, paid tribute to his son's unwavering commitment to party activism spanning more than a decade. The senior Rahimi disclosed that his late son had invested approximately ten years of dedicated work within the Maran UMNO Youth division before ascending to the position of division youth chief and subsequently securing appointment as treasurer of the broader Pahang UMNO Youth organization. At the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital Forensic Unit in Temerloh, Rahimi described his son as exceptionally active within party circles, noting that his involvement had forged strong bonds between himself and numerous UMNO members throughout the region.

The accident occurred under circumstances beyond anyone's control, with a section of tree canopy giving way and crushing the vehicle with devastating force. The impact's severity proved instantly fatal for the four passengers, while another son, Muhammad Rizz Haziq Mohd Radzi, sustained serious head injuries and remains hospitalized at HoSHAS receiving ongoing medical treatment. The sudden nature of the loss has compounded the family's anguish, as there were no warning signs or premonitions of danger during what was intended as a recreational outing combined with organizational engagement.
Forensic examinations of all four deceased victims concluded by 9 pm, paving the way for funeral arrangements rooted in Islamic tradition. The bodies are scheduled to be transported to Masjid Kampung Paya Luas in Temerloh for ritual washing and shrouding, following which they will be conveyed to Masjid As-Syakirin in Maran.
