Bau Wong Bau Ek of PKR contended that electors will ultimately render judgment on how well the state administration has governed, implying that governance record rather than political appeals will prove decisive in shaping voter behaviour. DAP's Teh Swee Leong offered a different angle, arguing that the supposed groundswell of backing for the PAS-PN combination has been exaggerated in its portrayal.
