Online Fraud Charges Surge Past 8,000 as Malaysia Pushes for Tougher Cybercrime Laws
Malaysia has recorded 8,014 online fraud charges through May this year, already surpassing the entire 2023 total of 6,140 cases. Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid highlighted the escalating threat while parliament advanced new cybercrime legislation.
